Through the M.B.C. Census Lab, Mapping Black California collaborated with Black media statewide, working collectively on Census 2020 reporting and community engagement for a complete count.
The Lab co-developed messaging, reporting, and advertising assets utilizing research-informed, data-driven, audience-focused, GIS-informed communication and outreach strategies. We employed innovative technological tools to engage Black Californians in Census participation through the converged use of community engagement and storytelling.
