Racism as a Public Health Crisis
Launched with support from the African American Caucus of California Cities, the Racism as a Public Health Crisis Dashboard tracked county and city declarations made across California in the wake of George Floyd's murder in 2020, as jurisdictions statewide began formally recognizing racism as a public health crisis. This dashboard served as an early proof of concept, laying the groundwork for what would become the Combating Racism as a Public Health Crisis platform, a more comprehensive tool built in partnership with Stanford's Starling Lab to authenticate and archive these declarations using blockchain technology. The original dashboard has since been discontinued in favor of this expanded platform.
